Another puncture day! This is the 3rd time my PG1 rear tyre got punctured & it's starting to get very annoying! And it's about time to convert the stock tube using rims to a tubeless set (still using spokes)
The best price so far in the market!
The brand I'm using is magicboy from the Phillipines, 17 inches rims front & rear with the same width of 1.6 inches. At first I was trying to get myself the 1.85 inches (vrossi brand from Indonesia) but it seems to be very impossible because that size seems to always out of stock in shopee & I don't think I'll find them in other platforms other than shopee. I really wanna use 90/90 size tyres on that size but that's not going to happen anyway. Please remember this is tubeless alloy rim & not just a normal rim. I refuse to use sports rims because they will destroy the authenticity of the PG1. My bike will lost it's image, I will lost my image as well & that's not going to happen on my watch!

Primaax tyres from Indonesia, make sure you to choose the tubeless type. The size I'm using is 17 (of course) x 80/90 for both front and rear since it's using the same rim width. The price was around RM140 for 2 tyres (including postage to Kuching, Sarawak)
I love this kind of threads! The sizes are perfect too! Should be nice for little offroad session.

Front rim while it's in progress! So stoked for the finished products, can't wait how it'll looks like on the PG1! Right here you can see the difference between a normal rims & the alloy tubeless rims, the holes for the spokes are located on the outer parts of the rims (left & right) while for the normal rims the holes for the spokes are located in the middle of the rims since they're using rubber tube inside.
The size of the spokes for the front rim. The number 10 is referring to the thickness of the spokes & 161 is referring to the length of the spokes (in mm), that should be around 16.1 centimeters (I think).
Trial and error with multiple spokes length! So far the front part is done! I'm very happy with the result!
Mr Sam is adjusting the spokes together with the rim & of course the stock hub. Before this I have seen some of his works on the rim stringing & I am impressed! That's why I decided to get his talent to do my rims, I know that I can trust this guy, very humble & soft spoken, also very sincere in giving advices on motorcycle tips and tricks especially in choosing the right parts for your machine.
The stock rear hub & the stock 16 x 2.15 inches iron rim (pretty heavy rim) if to compare to the magicboy alloy rims. Also very difficult to get the spare tyres & the spare rubber tubes, not many places are selling this size. I'm using the stock hubs front & rear because I don't want to waste any more money on the new set of hubs & after all stock parts are always better in terms of fittings & also the durability!
What's left out of the stock wheels, 16 x 2.15 inches powder coated iron rims, the stock 90/100 dual purpose IRC tyres, the inner rim covers & the inner tubes.
I asked the mechanic to left the stock spokes as original without cutting them so maybe I can use them back later in the future if I want to. At least I'll be saving some money & also that kind of spokes with that size might be very difficult to get.
Looks amazing! I was afraid the lip of the rim might exceeded the tyre because the holes are on the right & left side but this seems to be perfect & I'm very happy!
Seems a bit thin if to compare to the stock wheels setting & I bet this setup is going to be much lighter because of the alloy material & also a thinner tyres profile.
I really love what I'm seeing!
The rear wheel is using the stock spokes. So luckily I didn't ask the mechanic to cut the spokes off.

Looking pretty amazing & most importantly this setup will save me from getting the tyres punctured at any time! Ride first, worry later!
updated:
Some spokes got snapped & lost while I was riding the bike. This maybe due to unbalanced string by the mechanic. That's the reason why I'm hearing weird sounds come out from the wheel, at first I thought it was the new sprocket setup that I have installed earlier. Luckily I checked the wheel once I got home.
using the PG1 rear stock spokes causing the end or the tip of the threaded part coming out.
the stock spoke length for the rear rim is around 150 mm or 15 cm.
