good friends last forever
the morning ride
The ride was actually in conjunction of Visit Indonesia campaign or known as Wonderful Indonesia. Some other riders have to escort VIP straight from Kuching to Sajingan Besar and went back to Kuching and some enjoy the one day riding according to their own time and schedule and some plan to stay at some nice homestays around Lundu or Sematan before going back after the occasion is done.

Sajingan Besar is located in between Lundu Town and Sematan Town using the route to Kampung Biawak. We spent around an hour and a half to get there from Kuching where the five of us started riding at around 7 a.m where the plan is to ride a bit early so we can have a nice breakfast at Lundu Town eating local morning treats.

Then we meet some other riders that stayed the night before at local homestays and some other riders that ride from Kota Samarahan and Padawan area. It’s like a gathering for us riding the same machine which is scrambler or dual purpose bike.

at Malaysian border
The route of Kampung Biawak from the main road is about 30 kilometers away and the condition of the road is great reaching the border of Sajingan Besar. As soon as we reach the border, we were getting very excited knowing that we are going to ride on Indonesian road and enjoy ourselves with the ride. Once we registered our names at Malaysian border we have to wait for about an hour for the VIP to come and ride along to Sajingan Besar.

And the VIP arrived and we are ready to take off. The traffic was moving a bit slow because there are about 300 bikes altogether. As I ride along I thought this is going to be one hell of a ride. We passed by Indonesian border which was still under major renovation or should I say under construction.

After a few minutes, there we were reaching the destination (yes, after a few minutes). Well as for me Sajingan Besar is actually the border of Indonesia at Lundu side. And we have come to the not very pleasant news which is actually the target destination is not as far and as challenging as we thought it would be (and the rest of other riders too).

wonderful Indonesia
with Indonesian riders
I am in between of laughing and crying and I decided to have a good laugh about this. First we thought that at least we are going to spend around 15 minutes good riding on Indonesian soil but it happens that it was on a 3 minutes ride to the main destination.

But overall it was a fine day to ride, friends gathering and meeting and having such a fun time together. We went back after spending about an hour there at Sajingan Besar eating local foods and meeting other riders from Indonesia.

And before we headed back to Kuching we manage to pamper ourselves by having simple picnic at nearby waterfall at Sebat Village. From the main road after Biawak junction just turn left heading to Pueh village and the ride should be around 20 minutes to the waterfall.
